Missing Molly...

Meet Molly:

 She is one of my best friends. ever. Guess where she is?

NASHVILLE.

yup....Nashville TN. On a mission. And even though I am so glad she is there, I miss her terribly bad! I can't tell you how many times I have picked up the phone to call her, and realized that she wont pick up for 1 year and 1 month! I have wanted to drive past her house in Orem to stop in and see her so many times it just isn't funny anymore!

Anyway, here is me wallowing in my sorrows for the day. I.MISS.MOLS. I miss her laugh, her dumb questions, her innocence, her freakout moments, her almost too spiritual view of everything. (; the way she can't say No to ANYONE, and our lessons on me teaching her to be a little meaner...hahaha. I miss her. just her.

Here are some pics for this mournful day!

I wanted to end on the whole gang! 1 year needs to go by fast....by the time she gets home, my baby will be almost 1! I can't wait for Aunt Mols to meet my little one.

HURRY HOME MOLS! But have the time of your life out there! I know you are a great Missionary, and I love hearing from you! Love you!

XOXO- Shanna

Giving Thanks!

Since it is the month of Thanksgiving, I have been trying (like everyone else seems to be doing) to be pickout something each day that I am thankful for! It has been way easier than I thought, and I have trouble finding the "right one" for each day! I find now that after almost anything, I feel grateful for something. I am doing this "Giving Thanks" tradition weekly, I find I don't have too much time each day! So, here is my week 1 of being grateful.

Day 1:  I am thankful to be able to feel so good in this pregnancy. I was able to play some Volleyball on a league on Thursday, the first of November, and it felt great! I am so grateful I have been able to be, and do what I normally do. It has been a great 6 months so far!

Day 2: I am so grateful for my husband, and what an extremely hard worker he is! He works from sun up till sun down, and still finds time to get the little and big things done around the house that I cannot do. Including working on our vehicles. He is a great provider for our family, and I never would have guessed how great that is in a marriage. I fall more for him each day, and hope to be as great as he is someday! What a wonderful example in many ways, he is, and will be for our children! I can't wait to start our little family with him.

Day 3: I am thankful for my wonderful In-laws that I was blessed with! They are way more than I ever hoped or expected. They treat me with love and respect, as well as one of their own. I feel like I fit right in, and we have the best time together as a Taylor family!

Day 4: I am grateful for my Church, and everything it entails! I love my Savior, and am grateful and humbled for him to trust me with this little life inside me. I have tried hard to made sure I am ready spiritually to be a Mother. (as ready as you can be!) I love our Ward, and the wonderful sisters in Relief Society that have been so wonderful to me, offering any assistance! My old ward has been great as well, what good friendships I have built because of this wonderful Gospel. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon, and the history it shares with us. It is fascinating to me, to read about these people and how much faith they had. As well as gain great instruction from the words.

Day 5: I am grateful for books, so I can get away from reality for a bit, and just read! I can get so wrapped up in a book, drives MacKay crazy! But I love to read!

Day 6: I am thankful for my AMAZING family. My Mom is one of the most giving people, and she cares about you with her whole heart and more! She would give anything for her kids. I can't wait to have her be a grandma to my little ones, they will love her and learn so much from her! She is an amazing person, and spiritually, I hope to be where she is with her knowledge of the gospel principles and the scriptures. She is so in-tune, that it amazes me! My Dad is the most amazing Dad. I can call and talk to him about anything, especially the gospel. We always have great conversations, and I love to make him laugh! He is a very hard worker, and shares my soft spot for animals! (unless it is cats...) He cracks me up every time I am with him, and he surprises me just as much! I cherish the relationship we have, and have a deep respect for him. My sister is my best friend! I call to rant, laugh, and cry. She almost always picks up, and if she doesn't she calls within a few minutes! She is always there for me when I need her, and she is a great example of a mother! I hope someday I can be as great of a cook as she is, and homemaker. She is also one of the funniest people I know. I love it when she rants on and on about something she is passionate about, or to watch her when she drives....or when someone else drives for that matter! Major road rage! (; She has a wonderful husband who I am so grateful that he treats her right! She has the most amazing daughter, who anyone adores. Avery is my favorite! My brother is on his mission right now, and I couldn't be more proud of him. We still have the best conversations (even if they are delayed for weeks at a time) he still cares about what goes on in my life, insignificant or not! He is THE funniest person I know. Everyone loves him, and you can't stop laughing when you are around him. He is beyond cool, and very sensitive to peoples feelings. He has the funniest temper, and I can't help but laugh when he gets mad. Or when he gets claustrophobic when he finds out he is locked in the seat belt. I can't wait for him to come home and meet my new little baby! He is a great uncle, and the best brother a girl could ask for!... Basically I have the best family ever! Be jealous!! (:

Day 7: I am grateful for my Job and how much fun I have doing it. Also grateful for the kids and teachers I get to work with. AND I get to be educated everyday, which I LOVE! I am grateful that both MacKay and I have jobs.

What are you thankful for?!

Shooting

One of our favorite things to do is go Shooting! MacKay's view is shooting at something living, i.e. Rabbits, Snakes, any kind of animal. If that is the case I just sit in the truck and wait! But I LOVE shooting at targets. So, he humored me one day, and we went shooting with his brother, Bryce and our good friend Aurora! We had so much fun! Turns out they found some animal to shoot! You can tell by MacKay's smile, that he is thrilled. (;

Our life isn't that exciting, so this outing was something worth documenting! (;

PS. Note the Baby Belly. (;

I missed the memo of wearing Baby Blue! (;

We had so much fun! Wish we could go out again soon! (: Thanks for the great memory!

Clear back in June, one of my bestest friends of all time got married! It is a tradition, that my group of friends started when I got married, to have a Bachelorette party for the new Bride! (; 2 Years ago, we had the first one, for my wedding. We went to Trafalga, had the time of our lives! 1 year later we had one for Shawnee. We went to Jump On It, and about peed ourselves we were laughing so hard. Then this year we had one for our friend Tiff! We went to a roller blading rink. I can't tell you how much fun we had! Here are some pictures. This was a few days before the wedding, about a week before I left for AK, and about 1 week and a half before our other half, Molly, left for her mission! Enjoy. (:

Official Announcement!

 Well...I haven't officially announced our little Families "News" on my blog...so here ya go!

My adorable Niece was kind enough to pose for a picture! (; This is how we announced our great news to the world! I am now 6 months along/ almost 28 weeks.

I started suspecting that I was pregnant 1 day before my Half Marathon, at the end of May. If you read my post on the Half. You read how miserable I was. It was terrible. I suspect it had something to do with this little growing Baby inside me! (;
About a week after I ran, I flew to Alaska for 2 months and worked with my Husband! I took the "test" at home and it came up positive. We were so excited, we couldn't hold it in for very long before we told our immediate family. All very excited. We made them wait to tell ANYONE for 2 months. They were dying. I would have had a harder time if we hadn't been locked away in Alaska, away from everyone! (; My first trimester was a breeze. It really was. I wasn't sick, nauseous, dizy, craving weird things...I was reading all these pregnancy books about what I was supposed to be feeling, and I wasn't feeling any of it! (other than the lack of Monthly Female Hell each month) I got scared and told myself I wasn't really pregnant, that it was my mind making it up, and that I would have to tell everyone I never was pregnant. It was a nightmare! (; MacKay thought I was completely ridiculous! He knew the whole time. When I got back to the lower 48, I was about 15 weeks along, and I finally went to the doctors office. My Mom came with me, and I got to skip all the disgusting, invading exams and skip straight to the heartbeat, since I was so far along! I was still scared they wouldn't find a heartbeat, however they did! I was so excited! Hearing the little putters of the surprisingly fast and strong heartbeat was a miracle. I wished MacKay could have been there. I was shocked into silence at the love that burst through me, for this little baby I didn't even know yet!

The second Trimester was another breeze! I started feeling Pregnant though! So that was fun, I started growing and growing and I haven't stopped! I worked, coached, and played, all feeling wonderful. The only thing that was annoying to me were the claustrophobic, anxiety attacks! I found they would start when I was hot. The first one happened at a volleyball match in Cedar City. I was sitting on the bleachers when all of the sudden I was surrounded by girls, just talking and laughing, nothing out of the ordinary. We were waiting for the refs to get there so we could start. I started feeling like I couldn't breath, like everyone was talking way too loud, and they were way too close. I couldn't drink enough water, and I was so hot I couldn't even stand it! I just got up and went behind the bleachers and paced, breathing deeply until I could feel it leaving. I then climbed to the top of the bleachers, took off my shoes and pulled out my book, hoping they would leave me be for a minute! This has only happened a few times since then, but it is the worst feeling! Other than that, I was feeling pretty good the rest of the time. Here are some pictures of me in the 2nd Trimester!

 16 weeks

17 weeks

18 weeks

I stopped taking pictures then! I am now 27 weeks and 5 days along, I should post a picture, since I am growing everyday, I swear! (;

We had an ultrasound at 20 weeks, however we had the DR. kept the gender a secret!  So we are having a surprise, come late January (: The baby showers will happen after the baby is born. Yes we have names planned, No we will not share. (; Guess you will have to see what we have to find out!!

I am hoping these next three months have been as great as the first 6!  I wont be surprised at all if they get hard, I expect it to be more difficult! If not, then maybe the Labor, or the Child will be a challenge. (;

Halloween Goodness

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well, a couple of days ago. Since my College years, I haven't had any reason to get dressed up for Halloween. This year, I am aiding at the Middle School, and they had everyone dress up. So I had to think....FAST of a Maternity costume. Something cheap...something creative, and something funny. I was stumped. I turned the question over to my adorable husband, who simply replied; "Be a Speed Bump"..... Of course? What was I thinking? (;

Ok so there was the idea, now how to DO it.....I thought I could wear all black, then I thought, "How am I going to get people to realize what I am? Hmm....be a road....how can I do that? Yellow lines down my body? Couldn't be the dotted lines, because of the obvious movement of my legs, so Double lines it had to be. But how to get the lines? Paint? Absolutely not.... then I started thinking like a True Taylor, and the idea came fast. DUCK TAPE! Went to Walmart, and sure enough, they had yellow duck tape. Genius. However I still wasn't satisfied, I wanted people to look at me and know exactly what I was, not take a guess. So I got the idea of the "Bump Ahead" Yeild sign.....

Finally I was out the door ready for class. Let me tell you, I have never felt so popular. Everyone loved my costume. Ranging from the Principle, to 12 year old boys. I was given compliments all day long! It was wonderful! That started my Halloween spirits. When I got home, (MacKay was to be at work until 8pm) So I cleaned, made Chicken Noodle Soup, and made a yummy candy popcorn. Find the recipe HERE. I found this wonderful idea on Pinterest, and could not resist. When my Honey got home, we curled up on the couch with our soup, and a Halloween Movie- Dark Shadows. Soup was delish. Popcorn was a hit, and we actually had a few trick or treaters! However...the Movie was comically terrible!

Here is a pic of my halloween(:

Bring on Thanksgiving!!! (:

Welcome to Talkeetna!

I am almost done with all my updates on the summer up in AK! I know many of you just don't care to read about our many adventures, however this is for my records! Thus I will keep plucking away at the keyboard until I am caught up. Seems like a never ending task! Bare with me(:

Like I said in my last post, my parents came to visit us in Alaska, and we were able to do a little site seeing!! First we had gone to Whittier on a wonderful Glacier Cruise Tour. (last post) After we came back to Anchorage, we decided to tour a little bit of the city! Since being in Alaska for 2 summers, MacKay and I tried everything possible to avoid the too-big city. My only experience with Anchorage has been too stressful, too busy, too big, too hard to find things, too easy to get lost, too......infuriating! Both of us being county folk, stayed clear. However with my parents we got to see a little bit of the historical side of the huge city, and I found I was caught up in the little tourist shops! We decided to take a trolly tour of the city, it was about an hour long, and it was so fun! Learned a lot of cool facts about the early Anchorage to the Modernized Anchorage! Here are some pics:

Yes, This is what my dad does on the Tour....read maps. (;

After the trolly tour, we took the rental car and found the LDS Temple! It was tiny, we didn't go in, but it was fun to see! (And hard to find!)

After Anchorage, we headed north, made a long detor to Matanuska Glacier, and back, went to a baptism for our good friend Billy Linder, who we met in Alaska, and home to Talkeetna! Here are some pics!

 The Matanuska Glacier: Northeast of Anchorage, about 3 hrs. One of the biggest inland glaciers!

Mom & Dad with "The Sign"...you HAVE to get a pic with The Sign. (:

The sign right at the start of Main Street in Talkeetna! Also, the Sled for the Mushers

Kiss a Moose! All a part of the "Alaska Experience"

Dad was a little harder to convince to take this picture....anyone who knows my Dad...this picture is pretty much a miracle! (; Guess he gave in to my spill about "The Alaska Experience"!!!

However, he would NOT budge getting on the ancient snowmobile! Oh well!! (: Mom did great!

And I couldn't miss my chance at getting yet another picture with the snowmobile! (;

Down by the Susitna River!

Susitna River right before it forks off into the 3 rivers; Susitna, Chulitna, Talkeetna. On a clear day you would see Mt. McKinley straight behind us in the background! Unfortunately, my parents didn't get to see the Mountain come out the whole week they were there! My dad was discouraged, that was one reason he was most excited to come! About 3 hours after they left Talkeetna, the Mountain decided to make an appearance! Sad! They will just have to come back! (;

Our favorite place to eat EVER. Latitude 62. Favorite Dish is the Beer Battered Halibut! YUM!!

 Oh, and you can't forget to look at MacKay's truck...with his own body work done to the talegate....Emblem and all! (; We fit right in with the Alaskans!!!

My parents also took a trip to Denali National Park. They saw some wildlife, but no Mountain! We loved having them come to our second home! It was so fun to show them around, and have them experience Alaska with us! Thanks for coming Mom and Dad! (:

Glacier Cruise with Mom and Dad

This summer, while we were in Alaska, my parents took a trip up to see the beautiful state! It was a blast! We were actually able to sneak away from the Smokehouse for a bit and site see. First they flew in and we met them at their hotel in Anchorage the next morning, where we hoped in their rental car and headed south to Whittier. We had scheduled a Glacier Cruise Tour. MacKay was very skeptical, he didn't think it sounded fun at all. I was just glad to get out of the Smokehouse for a bit. (: After a little bit of a drive, we came to the Whittier tunnel. It is a man made tunnel that is 2.5 miles in length going through a mountain. The only way to and from Whittier. This is a picture of the tunnel going into the mountain! It was a fun experience:

 When we got to Whittier we grabbed some lunch and headed for our cruise ship! Here are pictures of our route, and our ship. We had so much fun! It was only about a 3.5 hour day cruise, and it was so worth it!

Here are some more pictures of the cruise itself, it was windy and you needed to be bundled because of the cool air, but it was beautiful!!

 Just leaving Whittier

 Isn't he handsome?

I told you, very windy!!

We got to see a shipwreck that has been there for years!

Beautiful Waterfalls from the glaciers up top.

BRR!!!

Glacier #1- Blackstone. This glacier was boring, it didn't calve. But it was beautiful all the same! Very cool to see.

Another Waterfall, boy where they loud!

Mom and Dad at Glacier #2: Beloit. Right after this picture was taken the glacier started calving! (breaking off into the water) It sounded like thunder, it was amazing. MacKay was pleasantly surprised that he really enjoyed himself! (;

Us and the Glacier

Little otter! We didn't see too much wildlife, just some seals, otters, and birds!
 All in all the cruise was a blast! We were served warm gooey chocolate chip cookies on the way back. I would reccommend the trip to anyone! There is also a 26 glacier cruise, it is an all day cruise, more expensive, but includes meals. I have heard good things about that as well!
Stay tuned for the rest of their visit. (:
